The tradition of celebrating Easter in Spain is very ancient. Poeple love to go to the streets and watch what we call "the images" of Virgin Mary and Jesus carried on the shoulders of the "costaleros". This year, I passed my Easter holidays in Ayamonte. Although it is a small city, Easter is as much celebrated as in the rest of cities, These pics were shot inside the church, and the day after, at night, while the Viirgin "wandered" around the streets at night.
La tradición de celebrar la Semana Santa en España es muy antigua. A la gente le encanta lanzarse a las calles y ver lo que nosotros llamamos "las imágenes" de la Virgen María y de Jesús llevadas a hombos de los costaleros. Este año pasé mis vacaciones de Semana Santa en Ayamonte. Aunque es una ciudad pequeña, la Semana Santa se celebra tanto como en el resto de ciudades. Estas fotos fueron hechas dentro de la iglesia, y al día siguiente por la noche, mientras la Virgen era llevada por las calles.
