Having fun editing / Divirtiéndome editando (1). July 2012

When I uploaded this photo to IG, I wrote: "This is not the kind of edit I like to do, but for once I wanted to to do something different. This is the result".

Process: Photo shot with the native camera of the iphone 4S, turned into black and white and adjusted Light and Contrast with Snapseed, added the purple sky with a double Picfx, Space, and finally added the sun with Lenslight. 

Cuando subí esta foto a IG, escribí: "Éste no es el tipo de edición que me gusta hacer, pero por una vez, quería hacer una locura. Éste es el resultado".

Proceso: Foto tomada con la cámara nativa del iphone 4S, con Snapseed pasada a blanco y negroi y ajustados Contraste y Luz, añadido el cielo púrpura con una doble edición con Space, de Picfx, y finalmente añadido el sol con Lenslight.

The world upside down at El Prat airport / El mundo al revés en el aeropuerto de El Prat, Barcelona. July 2012

The airport of El Prat, in Barcelona, has a highly polished floor, producing very sharp reflections. When I arrived to Barcelona to participate as a speaker at The Brandery and saw these reflections, I could not help shooting a few pictures that helped me to create that magical world that fascinates me so much when rotated 180 degrees.

This post is especially dedicated to Olga, @olgavimo, who liked all the photos in this series, and has decided to temporarily leave IG for personal reasons. Courage, Olga!

El aeropuerto de El Prat de Barcelona tiene un suelo muy pulido, donde se producen unos reflejos muy nítidos, Cuando llegué a Barcelona para participar como ponente en The Brandery y ví esos reflejos, no pude evitar hacer unas cuantas fotos que me han servido para crear ese mundo mágico que tanto me fascina al girarlas 180º.

Este post esta dedicado especialmente a Olga, @olgavimo, a quien le gustaron todas las fotos de esta serie, y que ha decidido abandonar temporalmente IG por razones personales. ¡Ánimo, Olga!

Hace dos semanas recibí un email de Alba García, redactora de la Agencia EFE, la cual estaba haciendo un reportaje sobre fotografía con dispositivos móviles, y quería hacerme una entrevista al respecto como miembro de F.I.E.

Urban spaces / Espacios urbanos. Lavapiés. July 2012

For the same reason explained in my last post, these are the only two photos of Lavapiés uploaded to IG during July. Color and BW version of Buenavista Street, my friend Silvia´s (@sil8) favourite street in Madrid. I dedicated these pictures to her in order to cheer her up after the sorrowful lost of her granny.

Por la misma razón que expliqué en el post anterior, éstas son las únicas fotos de Lavapiés que subí a IG en julio, Versiones en color y blanco y negro de la calle Buenavista, la calle favorita de my amiga Silvia, @sil8. Se las dediqué a ella para intentar animarla después de la triste pérdida de su abuela.

As I have been away from Madrid almost the whole month of July, I have only uploaded two photos of my neighborhood, el Barrio de Las Letras, during July, the color and the BW version of Moratín street. Here I present the two first ones edited with Snapseed, and the two last ones are the same, but edited afterwards with Cross Process.

Como he estado fuera de Madrid casi todo el mes de julio, sólo he subido dos fotos de mi barrio, el Barrio de Las Letras, durante este mes, las versiones en color y en blanco y negro de la calle Moratín. Aquí os presento las dos primeras editadas con Snapseed, y las dos últimas las mismas, pero editadas de nuevo con Cross Process.

These photos are the result of an afternoon in which my daughter Candela and I decided to go for a ride around the neighborhood known as La Villa, in the upper area of Ayamonte. I try to focus on details rather than on global things, and I wanted to highlight in each picture a detail turning the into black and white but with an element in color.

Estas fotos son el resultado de una tarde en la que mi hija Candela y yo decidimos darnos una vuelta en bici por el barrio de La Villa, en la parte alta de Ayamonte. Intento centrarme en detalles más que en aspectos globales, y quise resaltar en cada foto un detalle pasándolas a blanco y negro, pero resaltando algún elemento de color.

These are a series of pictures I have shot with the light overexposed. They are very white. I fact, I upload them to IG together with the hashtags #justwhite and #overexposed. Although they didn´t have much success on IG, I personally love the reslt. Here the are:

Ésta es una serie de fotos que disparé con la luz sobreexpuesta. Son muy blancas. De hecho, las subo a IG con las etiquetas #justwhite y #sobreexpuesto. Aunque no han tenido mucho éxito en IG, a mí personamelnte me encanta el resultado. Aquí os las presento:

Selected for the Weekly Mission: Gravity, by EyeEm. August 2012

EyeEm is a photo sharing app similar to Instagram in some aspects, but different to it in others. I´ve been using it for half a year, and what I like very much about it is that on EyeEm people just enjoying photography (at least until now). People don´t use it to chat, flirt or make friends, but just to upload and enjoy photos.

They organize a weekly challenge, and the last one´s topic was: Gravity. I only uploaded three pictures to it, and one of them was selected in the top 25 album, which you can see in its blog. I´m happy to see my pic together with pics of my buddies: Sil, Carol, Andrés, Raúl, José Luis and Raffaelle. Congrats to all of them and thank you EyeEm for selecting my photo!

The pictures shown here are the result of a "photowalk" I did with my friends from Barcelona Silvia, @sil8, and Andrés, @aenede, who accompanied me the day after my talk at The Brandery. It was a very pleasant Saturday I spent with them, walking around the neighborhoods of Born, el Rabal and around the cathedral.

I wanted to dedicate this post to them, for their friendship, dedication, and for being excellent hosts.Thank you, guys!

Las fotos que aquí muestro son el resultado de un "photowalk" que hice con mis amigos de Barcelona Sil, @sil8 y Andrés, @aenede, los cuales me acompañaron al día siguiente de mi ponencia en The Brandery. Fue un sábado muy agradable el que pasé con ellos, caminando por los barrios del Born, el Rabal y loa alrededores de la catedral.

Quería dedicarles esta entrada a ellos, por su amistad, su dedicación, y por haber sido unos excelentes anfitriones. ¡Muchas gracias, chicos!

Edificio Capitol, Gran Vía, Madrid. June 2012

This post contains only one picture, an image of one of my favorite buildings, the Capitol building (only in Spanish), in one of the most beautiful and important streets of Madrid, Gran Via. It is one of the most important buildings in Madrid, located in one of the most emblematic corners, with great presence, and it has been used as a backdrop for movies.

I like it a lot, but I had found the proper time to photograph it. However, the day I walked down Gran Via heading to Casa Decor in Plaza de España, when I was passing beside it I looked up, saw that wonderful cloudy sky, with sharp contrasts, and took the shot. I edited it only with Snapseed, seeking as main objective to highlight those clouds around it. I hope you like the picture as much as I do the building.
