A Sunday morning spent at Matadero Madrid / Un domingo por la mañana en Matadero Madrid. June 2012

These photos were shot on a Sunday morning that my family and I spent at Matadero Madrid to see the exhibition of PhotoEspaña that was held there.

I must admit that I had never been there before, and I found it a fascinating place. The rehabilitation of the old brick abattoir in this new space, with its industrial atmosphere, for workshops, exhibitions, conferences and cultural events is superb.

I could not resist the beautiful building and the magnificent light that flooded inside to make the photographs that I now present here to you.

Estas fotos fueron tomadas un domingo por la mañana en el que me acerqué al Matadero Madrid con mi familia, para ver la exposición de PhotoEspaña que había ahí.

He de reconocer que no había estado nunca, y me pareció un lugar fascinante. La rehabilitación del antiguo matadero de ladrillo en este nuevo espacio, de carácter industrial, lugar de talleres, exposiciones, conferencias y encuentros culturales, es magnífica.

Aproveché las instalaciones y la magnífica luz que lo inundaba para hacer las fotografías que aquí os presento.

Having fun in Madrid Río / Divirtiéndose en Madrid Río. June 2012

These photos were shot beside the bridge designed by Perrault. They show how people, especially children, can cool off in Madrid during hot weather. I could not dismiss the opportunity to shoot these pics due to the time of day, the people and the presence of water.

Estas fotos fueron tomadas junto al puente Perrault. En ellas se ve como las personas, y especialmente los niños, se pueden refrescar en Madrid cuando hace mucho calor. La hora del día, la gente y la presencia del agua hicieron que no desaprovechara la ocasión para hacer fotografías.

One of my photos chosen as "Photo of the day" by Blipoint. July 2012

I woke up yesterday with a good news. One of my pics uploaded to IG the day before had been featured as PHOTO OF THE DAY by Blipoint. It is a pic shot on Sunday 15th July, together with my friends Silvia, @sil8, and Andrés, @aenede.

Blipoint is a social network for photographers, illustrators, graphic designers and so on. The have an awesome website with a blog, forum, contests, courses, etc. They are also on IG, and if you tag your pics with #photoblipoint, you may have the chance to have your pics chosen as "photo of the day" and be featured in their blog.

Perrault´s Bridge. Puente Perrault. Madrid Río. June 2012

I recently celebrated my daughter Martina´s birthday in Rio Madrid, an area in Madrid restored a couple years ago as a new urban space for leisure, walking, biking, playgrounds, etc., along the banks of the Manzanares River in Madrid .

The two sides of the river are connected by several bridges, but the most important is the bridge designed by the French architect Dominique Perrault. It consists of two tubular sections of 278 meters in length that meet at a central platform, connected to the park. It is of great visual beauty, and has already been used as a stage for announcements and photographs.

I could not miss the opportunity to photograph this bridge.
