Tribute to my father / Homenaje a mi padre. February 2013

A few weeks ago I decide to make a tribute to my father on IG and EyeEm for personal reasons that I won´t reveal here. My father, lrcasanova on IG and newhouse on EyeEm is a great photographer who has developped a deep passion for mobilephotography. This is the text that accompanied the photo:

"My humble tribute to my father and his wonderful "straightfacade" pics. He's an extraordinary photographer and the best ambassador Madrid can ever have... He's so humble that calls "master" other igers, among them myself, just because we have more followers and likes. I grew up processing pictures on a dark room on Fridays, with a red bulb, pictures previously shot manually with his Leica camera. Don't fool yourself, he's the real master, not others (at least, not me). Check out his feed, enjoy his pics and texts (both cannot exist alone). There's only one thing left: that Madrid's townhall knows about this one day and awards him with a book collecting his work. By the way, all his photos on IG & EyeEm are shot and edited only with his iPhone..." 

Joselines. IFEMA, Madrid. February 2013

I´ve gone twice to IFEMA these last two months. Once to visit FITUR, and the second time to visit ARCO 2013. On both occasions I took advantage to photograph people walking by, at a certain distance, #joselines.

He ido dos veces a IFEMA en los últimos dos meses. La primera para ver FITUR, y la seconda para visitar ARCO 2013. En ambas ocasiones aproveché para fotografiar gente que pasaba, a cierta distancia, #joselines.

Visiting ARCO 2013

I was invited by my friend Manuel to spend one afternoon visiting ARCO 2013, one of the biggest and most importat fairs about Art in the world. As it usually happens, I spent more time shooting pictures than admiring the art works there exposed. I just spotted possible photos everywhere. These are just few of those I shot and edited, the ones I posted on IG & EyeEm. 

Fui invitado por mi amigo Manuel a pasar una tarde una tarde visitando ARCO 2013, una de las mayores y más importantes ferias de Arte en el mundo. Como suele ocurrir, estuve más tiempo haciendo fotos que admirando las obras de arte allí expuestas. Veía posibles fotos en todos los sitios. Éstas son sólo unas pocas de las que hice y edité las que he subido a IG y EyeEm.

Robert Adams at Museo Reina Sofía.

A few weeks ago I went with IG friends Orietta and Manuel to watch the exhibition of Robert Adams at Museo Reina Sofía. The exhibition was just wonderful, but I must admit that I was soon hooked by the minimalism of the space, so white, and by a man wearing a hat. So, I just passed quickly by the pics and spent my time shooting photos. When editing them, I liked to highlight the whiteness of the whole place.

Hace unas semanas fue con mis amigos Orietta y Manuel a ver la exposición de Robert Adams en el Museo Reina Sofía. La exposición era estupenda, pero debo admitir que me atrapó enseguida el minimalismo del espacio, tan blanco, al igual que un hombre con sombrero. Así que pasé rápidamente por las fotos y me dediqué a hacer las mías. Cuando las estaba editando, me gustó destacar la blancura de tod el sitio.

Framing Plaza de España / Enmarcando la Plaza de España, Sevilla. January 2013

While stepping Plaza de España in Sevilla, during the photowalk of the workshop at CICUS, I couldn´t help shooting this pic and two well known igers, one posing for the other. The scenery was just perfect. Shadow, a window framing Sevilla 1/3 on the left, the Light pouring through the window and the photographer kneeling down, 1/3 on the right. This is the result. Do you guess who they are...?

Cuando entrábamos en la Plaza de España de Sevilla, durante el "photowalk" del taller del CICUS, no pude evitar hacer esta foto de dos igers muy conocidos, uno posando para el otro. El escenario era simplemente PERFECTO. Sombra, una ventana enmarcando Sevilla a 1/3 a la izquierda, la Light entrando a chorros por la ventana, y la fotógrafa arrodillada a 1/3 a la derecha. Éste es el resultado. ¿Adivinais quiénes son...?

Invitado por Tertulias Viajeras a hablar de fotografía móvil

Hace unas semanas recibí una llamada de Sele, madrileño y gestor de El Rincón de Sele, magnífico blog sobre viajes, al que conocí durante el blogtrip por Arousa Norte que hice el pasado noviembre. Sele ha creado, junto a tres compañeros más, Tertulias Viajeras, reunión de amigos de los viajes para hablar de temas relacionados con los mismos. Esta tarde se celebra la segunda tertulia, bajo el tema "EL MUNDO A TRAVÉS DE TUS FOTOS", y el me propuso como ponente, en un intento de ofrecer una visión diferente al resto de contertulios, la de alguien no dedicado a viajar, pero que sí puede aportar un punto de vista diferente a la tertulia, a través de mi experiencia en la fotografía móvil. La propuesta me pareció interesantísima, y le dije que sí inmediatamente. 

Hoy es el gran día. Se celebra a las 19h en el UHostels, calle Sagasta 22. Esta tarde le volveré a ver, y conoceré a Pak, el moderador y uno de los creadores de las Tertulias, y al resto de contertulios, Ignacio Izquierdo, Jose Lourido y Jesús Pérez. Además, tendré el gusto de volver a ver a muchos de mis compis igers, que se acercarán a arroparme. ¡Será una gran tarde, seguro! ¡Muchas gracias a todos, a lo que me invitaron, a los otros ponentes, y a mis compis por acercarse!
